GENERAL INFORMATION
Japanese Aralia
Scientific Name: Fatsia japonica
Synonym: Aralia sieboldii, Aralia japonica
Family: Araliaceae
Origin: Japan, is a species of Fatsia, native to southern Japan.
The name "Fatsi" is older Japanese, meaning 'eight' (in present-day Japanese hachi), referring to the eight lobes. The name "Japanese Aralia" is due to the genus formerly being classified within a broader interpretation of the related genus Aralia in the past.
FEATURES
A luxuriant foliage is the number description to the beautiful Aralia.
The leaves are strong and have a long lasting green color that will make any arrangement come out from the rest.
The leaves have 7-9 broad lobes up to 20-50 cm in width, divided to half or two-thirds of the way to the base of the leaf; the lobes are edged with coarse, blunt teeth which make it a very useful and vibrant decoration element.
Fatsia Japonica Japanese Aralia is a spectacular evergreen plant that makes a great foliage item for decoration, bouquets and flower arrangements.
This shrub makes a dramatic statement with it's large pointed and waxy leaves.
